Maine Lakes Clean Lakes Challenge

ree

We are excited to launch our first ever Clean Lakes Challenge fundraising campaign!

As someone who appreciates and supports a future where Maine’s lakes are clear, clean, and blue, we are pleased to invite you to join our efforts.

A generous benefactor has offered us a Challenge Grant of $10,000 IF we raise $20,000 between now and the end of 2025. This will not only make your donation go further, and do more, it will triple our typical year-end giving and provide a critical boost to implementation of our 2026 clean lake programming.

And we have big plans for 2026, all focused on delivering essential programs that directly protect lakes and engage people in action. Your dollars will:

  • Empower communities with LakeSmart education and stewardship programming

  •  Increase shoreline resiliency with more and larger native plant buffers

  • Strengthen lake protection policies around invasive species management and funding through grassroots advocacy

  • Help fight harmful algal blooms by supporting erosion reduction practices

  • Expand freshwater education programming support across the state

Whether you’ve given recently or never given before, please consider a donation today to help us reach our Clean Lakes Challenge goal, leverage an additional $10,000 in giving, and overcome the many obstacles facing Maine’s lakes in the year ahead. As federal and other funding uncertainties loom in our future, and with this incredible fundraising opportunity to increase giving impact, there has never been a better time to meet the challenge of keeping Maine’s lakes clean.

We hope we can count on your support for the 2025 Clean Lakes Challenge.

Thank you for considering this request, and for all you do to support clean and healthy Maine lakes.
