Keoka Twins!

Writer: Brenda HambletonBrenda Hambleton

Thanks to Mary Jewell for this great photo!

There was much discussion about the status of our loon family this year. Our loon chicks usually arrive before the Fourth of July but the late ice-out may have affected their timing. We were relieved when the babies, yes two!, finally arrived. The proud parents have been showing them off as they travel around Keoka.

Remember to keep your distance whether you are swimming or in a kayak or boat. These are protected animals and Keoka is their home.

This year our official loon count is four!
